What is chronic pruritus of unknown origin?

Chronic pruritus of unknown origin (CPUO) is defined as itch of unknown cause lasting more than 6 weeks. The itch can be severe and uncontrollable, and include other symptoms such as burning or tingling.

About the Study

Study Objective

  • The main objective of the study is to assess the efficacy and safety of dupilumab (a monoclonal antibody given by injection) given up to 24 weeks in adults with CPUO.

Who Can Participate

You may be eligible to participate in this study if:

  • You are an adult between the ages of 18 to 90
  • You’ve had severe itching for at least 6 months
  • The itching is affecting most of your body
  • Your itch is of unknown origin: there is no cutaneous cause or any other disease (ex: kidney disease, liver disease, neurological disease, etc.) explaining your itch
